Sometimes the opportunities that shape our lives begin with a simple conversation.

Shortly after arriving in Maadi, Cairo, I spent my mornings sketching in a small coffee shop called Sparrow. Curious about the drawings filling my sketchbook, the owner jokingly told me she wouldn't let me leave until I agreed to exhibit my work there.

That conversation became my first exhibition in Egypt.

The Sparrow Exhibition marked an important milestone in my journey as an artist. It was the first time I brought together illustrations, stories and reflections from my travels into a single collection. More than an exhibition, it became a reminder that sharing your work often starts by saying "yes" before you feel ready.

Many of the ideas explored here would later shape ArtistNoMatterWhat, my talks, and the projects that continue to define my work today.

Sometimes all it takes is one person who believes in your work before you fully believe in it yourself.
